Dinner party + COVID-19. Oxymoronic? Maybe. But for some, the social distancing or “quarantine” time is becoming less stringent, especially in states with low infection numbers. If you’re in that camp, here are a few projects and tips to help keep you (and potential guests) healthy and comfortable.

  • Cultivate beautiful and comfortable spaces outdoors.

  • Create larger spaces so there is more room between guests.

  • Experiment with new lighting to increase a twinkly ambiance.

  • Avoid “buffet” style snacks or meals.

  • Use one-time use cutlery and plates (sorry environment! I promise I will revert away from this when the world is ready).

We hung market lights (Amazon.com), strung new tree lights, and wrapped “fairy lights” around smaller trees. I could not be happier with the result!

We also gave away our old 6-person outdoor dining table to make room for this huge (6 ft X 6 ft huge) custom farmhouse table! There is room for 3-4 on each bench, but in lieu of COVID-19, is great for couples to each occupy one bench.

The result feels mid-summer nights dream meets farmhouse chic.

Happy planning and stay safe, my friends!
